Help/Getting started
Welcome to Scout
What Scout is, how it's organized, and where to start.
Scout is your church management platform. People, groups, services, giving, and check-in live in one place, and Scout watches the patterns underneath so you don't have to.
What's where
The left sidebar is your map.
- Dashboard is your weekly read on the church.
- People is the directory and household map.
- Groups, Services, Schedule, Teams, and Check-In handle the parts of Sunday and the week between.
- Giving, Forms, Lists, and Reports sit under Administration.
You don't need to use every section to get value out of Scout. Most churches start with People + Services + Check-In, then layer Giving and Groups in once their team is comfortable.
What Scout sees that other tools don't
Scout reads patterns across attendance, giving, serving, and groups, then surfaces a single read on each person. You'll see status pills throughout the app — they're the shorthand for what's happening underneath.

Where to start
If you're brand new, work through "Your first 7 days". It's a short plan that gets you from empty database to running a Sunday in a week.
If you're switching from another ChMS, start with the import guides under Importing people. Most of Scout's value comes online once your people are in.
How to get help
Every dashboard page has a small ? button. Tap it for the three help articles closest to whatever you're looking at. If you'd rather email someone, support@scout.church goes straight to us.
Still need help?
Email support@scout.church and we'll get back within one business day.
