Help/Importing people
Import from Planning Center (PCO)
Pull people, households, and groups out of PCO into Scout.
If your data lives in Planning Center, Scout can pull it directly — people, households, and group memberships in one shot.
Connect your PCO account
Go to People → Import → From Planning Center. Click Connect Planning Center and authorize Scout. You only need to do this once.
You need a PCO account with admin permissions on People. View-only PCO accounts can't authorize the import.
What Scout pulls
- Every person in your PCO People database
- Households (Scout uses PCO's household structure as-is)
- Group memberships (PCO Groups → Scout Groups)
- Email and phone (primary only — Scout doesn't import every secondary contact yet)
Scout does not pull: giving history, check-in history, calendar events, or custom field data. Those live in PCO and stay there. If you want giving history in Scout, log it manually after import — see Recording offline gifts.
After import
Same as a CSV import: scan for duplicates and verify households. Scout flags PCO IDs on every imported person, so a re-import won't create duplicates if you change something in PCO and want to sync again.
You can also leave PCO connected and run the import again later. Scout updates existing people in place rather than creating new ones.
