Help/Giving
Tax statements
Generate and send year-end giving statements to your donors.
Scout generates IRS-compliant year-end giving statements for every giver in your church. You don't have to assemble them.
Generate statements
In January, go to Giving → Statements → Generate. Pick the year, confirm the church's legal name and address, and click Generate. Scout creates a statement per giver as a PDF.
The statements include every gift logged that year — Stripe-processed and offline both — and use IRS-compliant language including the "no goods or services were received in exchange" clause.
Send statements
You have three options:
- Email — Scout emails each giver their PDF directly. The fastest path. Givers without an email on file are skipped and surfaced in a list.
- Download all — get a zip of every PDF to mail or hand out at church.
- Download one — for the giver who calls and asks.
Most churches mix: email everyone with an email, then print the rest.
Re-issue a statement
If a giver lost their copy, go to their profile, click Giving → Statements, and re-send. The statement regenerates from current data, so if you logged a gift after the original send, it'll be included.
What's not included
Pledges, designated funds the giver didn't actually give to, and any gift logged with Tax-deductible: No. (You can mark a gift non-deductible from the gift detail screen — useful for raffles, dinners, and merch sales.)
