Help/Services & scheduling

The calendar

Services and events on one month grid, and who sees which half.

The calendar shows your services and your events on one month grid. It's a view of information Scout already has: nothing on it is entered here, and nothing here changes anything.

Open it

On the dashboard, find Coming up this week in the right-hand column and click Full calendar. The calendar has no sidebar entry; that card is the way in.

Use the arrows beside the month name to move back or forward. The month is part of the page address, so you can bookmark or share a specific month.

Read it

  • Services show as a short chip with a dot. Green means the roster is covered, amber means it still needs people, and gray means the service is a draft or has already happened. Click the chip to open the service.
  • Events show as a tinted chip. The color marks the event's category, so the same kind of event always looks the same. An event that runs several days appears on each of them. Click the chip to open the event.
  • Today is the dark circle.

Who sees what

Services appear for anyone with the View serving schedule permission. Events appear for anyone with View events. If your role has only one of those, you see that half alone and a line under the grid says why. See What each permission controls.
